Local attractions
Moshav Aderet is situated in Emek Ha’ela, where David fought Goliath. Emek Ha’ela is blessed with natural beauty and a comfortable, breezy climate.
The Moshav is surrounded by JNF forests. It is located 2 km south of Tel Sokho (Givat Ha-Turmusim, with a beautiful annual growth of lupins), and a kilometer west of Tel Adullam and the Adullam cave. Hirbat Itri, recently restored by the Antiquities Authorities and open to visitors, is located some two km south-west of Aderet. There are many caves in the area, as well as the limestone caverns characteristic of the Judean foothills.
Hiking trails and unique nature sites are plentiful in the area, only a 5-15 minute car ride away. The stalactite caves and Beit Guvrin antiquities are close by, as are the Britannia and Begin parks, so there are lots of options for picnic lovers. The area south of Aderet is designated for the Adullam Nature Preserve. There is also an archeological site--a farmhouse from the Hellenistic period--mere meters from the southern gate of Aderet.
For lovers of good food and wine, there are also several sites of interest:
-
Assorted local wineries (Tzora, Netiv Halamed Heh, Agur, Flam and others)
-
The “Tzuk” farm, specializing in goat cheeses
-
A variety of restaurants, including the recently opened “Tavlinim”.
